Slow Foxtrot

Slow Foxtrot is a beautiful, elegant dance, but it is notorious for being the most difficult of the standard ballroom dances. The look of the Slow Foxtrot, with its simple, graceful lines and its steady rhythm of “slow-quick-quick”, belies the technical knowledge and physical skill it takes to produce it. It is therefore not advisable for beginners to start with this one. In time and with lots of practice, however, the Slow Foxtrot can become the smoothest and most enjoyable ride around the floor.

Learn the Slow Foxtrot at Long-Steps

We’ll take you through all the steps from scratch. Even if you have never danced before, we will show you how. You do not need a partner to learn the dance, your instructor will dance through it with you.

Long-Steps currently teaches the Slow Foxtrot periodically during our Adult Classes and by Private Tuition.

Long-Steps teaches the Slow Foxtrot according to a combination of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Dance Examinations Board’s The Ballroom Technique, and other reputable ballroom technique publications and resources.
