Rhythm Foxtrot

The Rhythm Foxtrot is a smooth dance that is slower and more elegant than Slow Rhythm but not as complex as Slow Foxtrot. While danced at the same tempo as Slow Foxtrot, and in the same closed ballroom hold, the Rhythm Foxtrot has no heel turns. Despite the absence of the heel turn, the Rhythm Foxtrot retains classic figures such as the feather, three step, and various weaves. It also emulates heel turn based figures such as the reverse and natural turns using the appropriate chasse or open turn alternatives. In this way the Rhythm Foxtrot can be danced either as a stepping-stone to the Slow Foxtrot, or as a simpler, more socially danceable alternative.
