"Like a Good Scotch or a Fine Wine, a Foxtrot should be smooth and elegant"
Weekend Workshop - Glenroy Foxtrot
The Glenroy Foxtrot is a beautiful pure slow fox routine that is very popular and very satisfying to dance. It's challenging in parts to get just right, but well worth the effort to learn. All the moves are genuine slow fox moves so, once mastered, they can be dropped into your freestyle slow fox at any stage. If you've never learned slow foxtrot before then this sequence is a fantastic introduction, and if you have, we recommend coming along as the music along is well worth it.
Over the course of 4 hours we'll take you through the entire dance from start to finish. You don't need any special dancing experience, and you don't need any special equipment. If you have some dancing shoes, or shoes with soft soles that don't grip we recommend you bring them along. Boots and strong gripping shoes are not recommended.
We'll kick off the dancing at 1pm, so be sure to arrive a little earlier if you need to change shoes or general attire. The day will be broken into 4 sessions, with an afternoon tea break (included in ticket price), followed by an open invitation to join the Long-Steps crew for dinner (not include in ticket price).
- 1pm to 1:55pm Session 1
- 2pm to 2:50pm Session 2
- 2:50pm to 3:10pm afternoon tea
- 3:10pm to 4pm Session 3
- 4:05pm to 5pm Session 4
- 6pm Dinner
We recommend bringing along a water bottle, but they will be on sale for $1 a bottle through out the day. You will also receive 1 with your afternoon tea. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available during the break times.
Long-Steps would like to extend an invitation to all our workshop students to join us for dinner after the workshop is complete. Long-Steps has booked a table at Amigos, a Mexican restaurant in North Hobart. Dinner will commence at 6pm, and will be off the menu.
As Amigo's is a busy establishment on a Saturday night, we ask that you register your interest no later than the 19th of August, and confirm no later than the 26th. You can register your interest in dinner when you purchase tickets for the workshop.
