Honky Tonk & Viennese Waltz
We’ve got an interesting combo for you this month – the Honky Tonk and the Viennese Waltz! And no, we’re not actually combining the two dances into some boot-scootin’ twirling extravaganza; we’re learning one, and then the other.
The first hour of the class we’ll be learning the Honky Tonk. It’s all ballroom moves with just a dash of Country thrown in, and is a lot of fun on the social floor. There are some advanced moves, but nothing we can’t handle.
The last half-hour of the class will be dedicated to the Viennese Waltz. The Viennese is made up of moves you’ll have done in other dances – it’s nearly all natural and reverse waltzing – but the technique makes all the difference, so we’ll be focusing on how to make this fast but elegant dance effortless and fun.
